I stopped shopping for a year. It changed more than my spending.
I started my year-long shopping ban because I wanted to change the way I bought things.
But something unexpected happened. I began to notice how much time and mental space wanting things had been taking up — browsing, comparing, thinking about what to buy next.
When buying was no longer an option, much of that noise disappeared.
I still liked beautiful things. I still wanted things. But I learned that wanting something didn't mean I had to own it.
That experience became the idea behind The Want Trap.
“Wanting something doesn't mean I have to own it.”
This isn't about never buying again. It's about being free to choose.
